When I’ve found this original, brilliantly designed dual purpose drinking mug, I’ve immediately though at those people who sent me emails, and I’ve decided that this might be a good design to post. Contemporary Rugs HZL
HZL is a collection of contemporary rugs by Henzel and they are built upon a foundation of creativity and a desire to make rugs a key element of interior design. The quality of HZL’s rugs comes from a belief in using only the very finest materials and the expertise of dedicated craftsmen. Henzel’s rugs are handmade using two different techniques according to their characteristics and best expression: hand-knotting and hand-tufting. HZL houses over 100 designs, woven and stitched in silk, wool, viscose, alpaca and mohair. Including long, shaggy piles, luxuriant silks and needlepoint flat waves that come in countless colours and patterns. Creative director and designer of these rugs is Calle Henzel. Pencil Bench Made from 1600 Pencils
The Pencil Bench was designed by Boex 3D Creative Solutions. The seat contains 1600 individually sprung rubber pencils that can be yanked out for use. The bench might be made from 1600 individually sprung rubber pencil but I still think is quite un comfortable. The Pencil Bench has won various design awards over the last year, but hasn’t yet gone into commercial production. Although I’m sure they will make you one if you ask nicely. - Via - Cubeme

Designed by Naomi Thellier de Poncheville, this doorknob welcomes visitors with the firmest of handshakes. So if you want something unique and original for your door this doorknob could be something that you should try. Who knows maybe your guests will feel more welcome after cause of this friendly handshake. Most of us don’t live in buildings with a live doorman anymore so this may be the closest we’ll ever get to getting a piece of the pie. And no need to tip during the holidays. - Via - Productdose
Space Management: A table That Pops Out of a Cabinet
In the modern world, space and time are the costliest commodity of them all. Since one has to learn to use the available room to the fullest, Spanish designer Attua Aparicio Torinos came out with a cabinet that holds a table inside it with ease. Just pull the two legged table and the cabinet acts as the fixed support at the other end. This looks simple, ergonomic and one can change their Living Room into a small dining space in a jiffy. The best part is that you really need not worry about assembling any parts as this cabinet-table makes multi-tasking trouble-free.
Stop for the "Speed Up" by Roche Bobois Furniture
Modern technology and serious vision have enabled designer Sacha Lakic to create the "Speed Up" series of contemporary furniture for French manufacturer Roche Bobois. It may be the perfect combination of Sacha's back ground as a futuristic car and motorcycle designer, and Roch Bobois' cutting Beverly Hills: Edge / Leather Sofa Sets reputation that allowed such a bold line to be realized. Thermo shaped components and cool features like neon lighting accent the space age shapes you might see in a sci-fi movie or vision of the future. The Meridienne 3 seat sofa / chaise lounge speaks for its self, but if I had to comment I would say this super cool, ultra modern sofa will no doubt stand the test of time. The Speed Up series also includes a dining table and chairs, a sideboard, and several storage units in a variety of vibrant colors.
A Cool Stool by Established and Sons
Here is a really cool interlocking four piece stool from British manufacturer Established and Sons that gives you a variety of seating arrangements, and all of them look great. Designer and architect Zaha Hadid has created some head turning modern furniture for famous names including B & B Italia, Moroni Leather, and Sawaya, and I have a feeling the list will go on. Zaha makes great use of clean flowing organic shapes with the Nekton interlocking stools that can be used individually or as a larger seating system. The Nekton is a production version of the original that was part of the "Seemless" collection comprised from rotation molded Fordacal. Established and Sons has a wonderful assortment of furniture that ranges from very modern to classical contemporary.
