Coffee. Café. Java. Espresso. Latte. No matter how you spell it or prepare it, it is an obsession for most people who drink it. At one time, the only place you could get specialty coffees like cappuccinos or espressos was in a boutique coffee shop, or you could eek by at home with standard pot coffee (which can also be excellent, thank you). Now having an espresso machine in the home is as simple as picking one up from a kitchen accessory store like Williams Sonoma. But not everyone uses this machine everyday, so the question becomes where to put this modern marvel... Inside the cabinet next to the blender perhaps? Think again! These specialty coffee machines are made to be as neat looking as the coffee they produce. In newer kitchens, they are showcased as built-in models, or placed in a spot that was designed just for them, the coffee or beverage bar.
More and more, I am seeing a Beverly Hills: Trend / Leather Sofa Sets of putting in coffee bars in master bed & bathrooms, guest suites, or media/game rooms as well as in their normal spot in kitchens. Narrowest House in The World just 1 Meter Wide
Today you’ll see a great example of what a woman did with a small piece of land without any “architectural” help: 2 rooms, kitchen, 3 bedrooms with washrooms and a veranda! This narrow house belongs to the lady in yellow - Helenita Queiroz Grave Minho , designed by her. She live in this 1 meter wide by 10 meter tall house in Madre de Deus, Brazil. At first, the municipality refused, but in the end with the plan allowed the construction, that became a touristic spot of the small town of 12 thousand people. I think that this project is a very unique idea and something like this could be designed in big cities where the space is really a problem, but to live daily in a house like this would be exhausting. - Via - Ahboon
The Campbell Divertimento in LA
There are times when words are not necessary to make a point and that’s one of them. But I’m still going to give you a few details on L.A.’s Beverly Crest neighborhood and the house (the Campbell Divertimento) that has a 5,000 square foot swimming pool with a towering stone fountain.
Thought to be designed by the famous Mexican architectural firm of Luis Barragan and Raul Ferrera the 4,900- square-feet house is now owned by Eugene Leoni and his business partner, Anthony Brent. Even though we know there’s no such thing as “ perfect” you can see for yourself that it’s so close. Re designed to make it look better, Leon and Brent wanted to sell it for a small profit, after everything is done. Seeing the outcome, they priced it at $9.95 million.
The first floor is for entertaining purposes with a game room, a long dramatic bar and wine room, along with a bedroom suite. Up one level, and you’ll find a large Living Room with a glossy kitchen and a dining room, a huge window that offers magnificent views, a master bedroom suite and terrace, and two stylish bedroom suite. Segretto Plexiglass Bedside Table from Ilaria Marelli
The use of plexiglass intriques me in furniture design due to its hardness over glass and its see-through abilities. Ilaria Marelli designed Segretto to be a bedside table with something extra.
