Actually named for a simple, in expensive Milanese bread, La Michetta is made from polyurethane and fiber fill, and then upholstered in cotton. Beach House in Bundeena, Australia
Remember the sunny California beach house, from the other days? Well if liked it, we have another from Gunyah beach in Bundeena, Australia. Created by architect Clinton Murray, solid as a rock and intended “last forever”, it wasn’t easy to tuck it into the hillside, very close to the breaking shoreline.
“The house sits with its toes touching the sea and with an exposed worn rock face at its back, both constant reminders of the power of wild storms blowing in from the north-east. And should the big seas come, this house is a safe haven, no question about it.”
But enough with the location and how solid this beach house is, because the interior is just as spectacular as the site itself. The whole house is made of reused Oregon timber and textured off-form concrete which contrasts with the orange, really well. It has a main living quarters with everything you may need (including three master bedrooms with en-suite balconies) for a relaxing vacation and a copper clad roof to offer stunning ocean views. - via Modresdes

Furniture with Lots of Drawers and Unusual Shape
I’ve discovered these pieces of furniture with a really unusual shape for a piece of furniture when I saw a report on Cuban art on Frontline/World earlier this week. They mainly focused on the work of Los Carpinteros, a group of two Cuban contemporary artists. From the pieces created by these artists the most interesting and in the same time unusual pieces of furniture were the grenade -jewelry case and the hands with all the drawers. In a few words a piece of furniture like this could be described as an object made from drawers. Finnaly I’m pretty sure that you’ll not see designs like these in production, and they are just concepts.

The String Chair
This string chair invites a second look, a wish to try it out and perhaps even a love-hate re action. The chair boasts strong clean lines - literally - for the seating area and backrest are series of taut strings. The two groups of strings neatly interlock at the junction of the seating area and the backrest much like the warp and weft of looms. The design certainly begs the question - cushion or no?
The designer is egawa+zbryk whose skillful use of bent birch plywood, nylon cord and stainless steel has given his creation its curving form coupled with straight lines and pleasing balanced colors.
