The Vestry Side Table Inspired by Mid-Century Modern Furniture
Duane Modern has created the Vestry Side Table for followers of modern furniture whose tastes span back to mid-century roots. The varying levels, shapes, and elements of Vestry hearken back to original mid-century design. When I look at this piece I see so many elements all wrapped up into one small table. There is the open end on one side. The table legs criss-cross forming an interesting design pattern. There is a cut-out where the table leaf should be squared off on its end. There is an open area in the mid-shelf where the drawer area is not completed across the width of the table. If there is a piece where many elements are rolled into one, than this is it. Small Cabinet Table from David Edward
Bridgeport is a small cabinet table offered by David Edward. This piece of furniture has two pull-out sections. The first is a storage drawer that is coated in laminate for easy cleaning should you need store things that may require cleaning from time to time. The second handle leads to a leave that comes out that acts as a writing surface. This is a neat feature if you need to write things such as if this were a bedside table. Interestingly enough, the design roots of this table were intended to be used as a nurse's bedside table. Notes could be taken on the leave while other items are stored in the drawer. 1950s George Nelson wall unit by Herman Miller
A nice mid century modern example, this wall unit was designed by George Nelson and produced by Herman Miller in the 1950s. The wall unit features three vertical supports which serve as its architectural foundation. On the left is an open shelf with dividers for storage. Beneath the storage with dividers, is a drop front desk with a single door opening to a storage space.
On the right hand side, there is a single plank shelf at the top. Below there is a cabinet with one shelf which has two sliding glass doors. At the very bottom is a cabinet with three small drawers and one larger drawer/ storage area. The wall unit is adorned by three lights. Measurements: 14" x 65" x 96" (lwh).
My hope is to visit a garage sale and find a wall unit as fine as this example. These pieces are becoming increasingly hard to find at bargain prices since more people understand their value. I checked with a local friend and dealer. According to him, he would charge from $2,800 - $4,000 for this piece depending on its condition.

These fantastic waterfall bathtubs by KÄSCH are inspired by the sounds of nature. In particular, the waterfall is a harmonious sound known to entrance people by helping them relax. KÄSCH has engineered these designs to include the flow of water naturally through a chute as in a waterfall to enhance the bathing experience. I really like this idea and think is it a big improvement over a typical faucet. Often a fantastic bathtub with a ton of options has a mundane faucet from which to deliver water.
