Christopher Dezille’s Honky, Builds Great Furniture
For a guy looking to buy furniture for his renovated apartment, seeing what Honky comes up with is really helpful, but the fact that they’re from London is not. The guy behind the funny name interior design company is Christopher Dezille. His work tries to please everyone, hence the stylish, modern, contemporary or mid-century furniture.
To be honest I’m really impressed by his kitchens and especially by the bathroom below. Fiber Cement Furniture and Planters by Swiss E Form
Swiss E Form has a real solution to the "Green" and "renewable" resources problem with their line of fiber cement indoor and outdoor furniture and planters. All of the Swiss E Form products are handmade in Switzerland from a breathable, frost free, durable and recyclable, not to mention abundant fiber cement. Due to a very versatile material the furniture and planters can be used inside or out back for patio furniture. Bookcase Inspired by the DNA by Joel Escalona
Designed by the Mexican designer Joel Escalona and called “MYDNA” its a unique bookcase design with twist shape. This interesting piece of furniture called “MyDNA” take their influence from that of the DNA strand, as you can see in the pictures attached below. MYDNA can be on several colors and in two presentations: Static MYDNA, which is one single structure perfect for dividing rooms at home and Rotating MYDNA for easy access to the books and more objects you put on it. For those of you who already fall in love with this piece of furniture unfortunately the bookcases are currently looking for a manufacturer to pick up production, and can’t be boght for now. - Via

I have the sneaking suspicion that the crew over at Finland-based Tunto Design doesn’t always take itself seriously, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. While Tunto’s work has the polished hallmark of a quality manufacturer, there is also an unmistakably hip and homegrown urban vibe that permeates their product line.
Above: the Skede is a chair with the deck of a skateboard for a backrest (similar to Vitamin’s Powder Seat, which we featured here). The deck is supplied by Control Skateboards, but is optional: if you’d like to use your own skateboard, Tunto will supply the necessary instructions and screws so you can do the mounting yourself.
Although Keinu resembles the Skede in form, its function furniture designpletely different: I’d have to say Keinu is the first swing we’ve featured here at PadStyle. The seat is made from slightly bent layered birchwood, and even includes 5 meters of rope. While five basic colors are available, Keinu furniture designes to life when screenprinted with one of three graphic designs.
M3 is another fairly basic piece that resembles a banker’s box. The M3 is in fact a birch plywood seat furniture designes with handles and a removable lid for storage. Similar to the Keinu, this rudimentary seat is really shines when decorated with illustrations and patterns (the result of collaborations with more than half a dozen artists).
What I found the most interesting was the artwork on Tunto’s Kukka table. These floral patterns (by Finnish artist Jani Tolin) bear more than a passing resemblance to Patricia Urquiola’s Damasco table (featured here), enough so for me to wonder whether Jani also collaborated with Patricia or if this is an amazing coincidence. All questions aside, the Kukka and the more rectangular Vuokko table are definitely more “traditional” contemporary works from Tunto, but stylish furniture design

DESPITE THE FOUL LANGUAGE, Joe Velluto’s (Fuc)King Plates actually make sense on a certain level. It’s named for the hole in the middle; we’ll let your grade school imagination take you the rest of the way. The hole actually serves as both a somewhat awkward gripping point; we’d probably hang the plates along a horizontal wire rack.

ALTHOUGH POLYSTYRENE is best known for its other incarnations, namely Styrofoam, Julianna Holowka has successfully molded its laminated form into an array of wildly creative lamps. Her Josephine Lamp most appeals to feminine sensibilities, with a gentle petal motif rendered in white linen laminated polystyrene, while Chaos resembles twists of cardstock but is too made from plastic. For those with more violent inclinations (I kid), the Mace Lamp has the twin virtues of being both eye-catching and useful in d furniturebat.
