Kitchen Design Trends - What's Popular Today
In today's modern world, we often find it hard to gather our families around a formal dinner table to discuss the day without various interruptions from technology (i.e. your son's or daughter's addiction to text messaging). We have two choices: fight the information age, or let ourselves be integrated into the high tech universe.
The kitchen now more than ever reflects these changes, and is usually one of the most technologically modern rooms in the home. Our kitchens are more and more becoming the very heart of our homes, where the family meets sometime during the day. What time, or how many times a day depends on the family, but for most it's where the parents cook, kids do homework and/or help with food preparation, pets get fed, lunches are made, and schedules are discussed. Knowing this, most kitchens will seem to be inadequate for all of the activities that take place there. Fortunately for the remodeling and design community, homeowners are recognizing this and are undertaking major re models of their kitchens to reflect their personal lifestyle.
Some of the newest Beverly Hills: Trend / Leather Sofa Setss in kitchen design involve the technology wave mentioned above. Appliances are at the forefront of this wave. There are refrigerators by LG and Samsung that have LCD TVs that let you surf the web and keep track of things like knowing when you are low on milk or eggs. There is also an oven by TMIO that can act as a refrigerator until you use the internet or you mobile phone to connect to it and tell it when to turn on. As far-fetched as these appliances may seem, the fact that they exist at all shows a change in what some consumers are asking for in their kitchens.

Sony RHT-S10 Soundbar Wall Home Theater System
With the surround-bar concept getting wider attention, many firms are rolling out related products. This time, we have Sony with their new RHT-S10 Soundbar Wall Home Theater System. The Sony Soundbar Wall Home Theater System was presented at CES ( world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow ) that is happening between 7-10 January in Las Vegas. This system it’s a full audio-only 5.1 system with no rear speakers, optimized for Blu-ray, so it doesn’t have a DVD drive. The free-standing unit has a built-in TV mount, amplifier and subwoofer. Bendo Collection - Minimal Furniture
The Bendo collection is characterized by its visual minimal construction. Plywood plates are bend into form and evoke the feeling of a single split and bend surface. Big radii along the corners enhance the flowing expression. The upholstery are bend along the construction and draw an inviting soft surface. Varying the color of the seat has a big impact on the perception of this furniture, that therefore can make a strong impression in any environment. Beautiful Paper Work by Jen Stark
Miami-based artist Jen Stark creates these amazing sculptures using construction paper. Not only is it beautifully executed but her use of colour and proportion is fantastic. What makes me most impressed is the way she makes two-dimensional papers into three-dimensional sculptures. I’m sure that these “paper sculptures” can be a beautiful piece of art that can hang on any wall and make a home more interesting.
Very Cool Modular Office Furniture Designs from Arcadia Contract
Having worked in office environments for many years, I know that the design of the setting can go a long way towards enhancing the experience of the employees. For example, hip and fresh designs and colors indicate new ideas and growth. Conversely, drab colors may indicate a more mature company that is on "auto-pilot". I myself have worked in both environments. I came across an interesting company, Arcadia Contract, which has a "very cool" line. In these pictures you see great colors, shapes, and designs that are sure to brighten up any office setting. A bloggers review on Santa Fe homes
I just got back from vacation in Santa Fe, New Mexico where a family member lives. This relative has a great home in Santa Fe. The property is on a side of a mountain at 7,400 feet elevation. This house has over ten acres of land with it so there are some other homes nearby, but not too close.
The first thing that comes to mind about homes in Santa Fe is the prevalence of the stucco / adobe look. There are very few traditional brick or wooden homes. The colors of the adobe vary from light tan to medium colored browns. The interesting thing is that the color spectrum is rather small. Thus, when you walk around the city of Santa Fe all the businesses and homes seem to blend together nicely. I am use to having some crazy neighbor that puts something out that distinguishes their home often to the chagrin of the other home owners.
