Today While visiting Gage Clemenceau Architects an architecture and design firm with projects covering a wide range of scales, from a five hundred room Hotel/Resort, to residential, furniture and product design I’ve discovered in their residential projects section two beautiful New York apartments ( Griffin Residence & Residence in SOHO ), that I liked an finally here they are. Simple, modern and with lots of style. The work of the firm is motivated by the premise that architecture transcends the practice of mere building - in favor of a new and vibrant alliance between progressive technologies, new materials, and a renewed interest in architecture as an exceedingly visual and aesthetically driven discipline.

The Design Can takes wall Mirrors into the realms of whimsy and self deprecation. Chromifocus : Wall Art and FirePlace All in One
Winter is just around the corner and people everywhere will be firing up their fire places to not only keep warm, but to set a cozy ambiance that only fire can provide. In a previous post, Furniture Fashion showed our readers the most stylish suspended modern fire places of the "Focus" series from designer Dominique Imbert. Her "Chromifocus" was inspired by and dedicated to the great vision of artist Piet Mondrian, and offers a concealed sliding door option that turns this very useful fireplace into a work of art. Modern Mosaic Tables
Mosaics are great additions to home decor, not just for floors and walls but tables. Mosaic tiling on tables is not new but many of those you come across would not suit a contemporary style. So it is delightful to see the work of designer Brad Teasdale, co-founder of Brooklyn Glassworks, NY. He is ” the pioneer of exclusive techniques that blend contemporary concrete and glass design with classical mosaic craftsmanship.” His nested tables are an example of that skill. It is made of concrete, kiln formed glass and stainless steel and demonstrates his artistry with contrast and placements.
For those who prefer the warmer tones of wood, his custom designed Colourshapes table shows his versatility with mosaics on organic material. Overall this is one designer who is able to combine art with utilitarian function. Teasdale does custom installations of a wide variety of tile applications including furniture, architectural features and fine art. He could be called a modern mosaic master. - Via

Library and Studio for a Writer by Andrew Berman
This 1,520 s.f building was designed by Andrew Berman Architect as a library and studio for a writer. It is located at the threshold between a open field with an orchard, and a densely wooded area. The building geometry and circulation map the transition between these two landscapes. The study is situated at the elevation of the tree canopies. The volume is daylit from above. The exterior is sheathed in copper, and left to weather. With the studio floor situated at the elevation of the tree canopies, a floor to ceiling picture window provides the inhabitant with panoramic views of the wooded area beyond. - Via - Notcot
